Glamour shots at EPF

EPF had a professional photographer on contract for a month this spring. He took beautiful shots of our events and projects which we use in our publications. He also came in and did a photo shoot of our staff for our website. Many of the ladies in the office took the opportunity to take some glamour shots. Check us out on the EPF website! (click here)

Armenian Navy Band

This is the band we saw last night(The video itself is dizzying, but I thought it was one of the better songs available on YouTube):

Lake Sevan Triathlon Practice run

This August, both of us are signed up to participate in a triathlon at Lake Sevan. Organized by friends of ours at the Embassy, the olympic distance (1.5 kilometer swim, 40 kilometer bike, 10 kilometer run) triathlon is a benefit for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

In July, the group has organized a few fun practice runs on the course. The first was a half-distance dry run of all three events. Despite it being a hot day in Yerevan, it was chilly and windy at the high-altitude lake. A small group swam, despite the wind and cold water, and a larger group enjoyed the bike and/or the run.

Brian got in a good bike ride

And Run

But Sarah forgot her bike lock key (oops) and had to be content with a dip in the lake and a short run.

Hike up Mount Aragats

At the end of our long 4th of July weekend, we went with a couple of friends to hike Mount Aragats, the highest peak in Armenia at 4,095 meters (13,435 feet).

Here we are at the south peak (the lower peak):

After a couple of hours of hiking, the north peak becomes visible over a ridge

We came down via the snow:
