Kemer, Turkey

We took our August vacation in Kemer, Turkey, on the Mediterranean.

Blue water and striking cliffs...

beaches and sun, mountains and sunset...

Sarah went scuba diving...

whilst Brian hung out by the pool...

but Sarah was there too...

And watch out for those rays.

Lake Sevan Triathlon

Today was a day we've been looking forward to for a while, the Lake Sevan Triathlon. Despite worrying about everyone next door in Georgia, those of us who made it to the event had a good workout and a good time. The morning was a bit chilly (look at the mist coming over the mountains in the photo above! It was beautiful, although biking through it made for low visibility and high winds).

But the brave swimmers took to the water (neither of us among them)

We both enjoyed the 40K bike ride and 10K run

...and the barbecue at the end.

Study trip to Tbilisi with Armenian NGOs

This week, Sarah was in Tbilisi with a group of ten NGO leaders from throughout Armenia. The trip was a study tour for the group to meet with some strong Georgian NGOs. We visited five organizations and one embassy in three days, but also had time for some sightseeing. At right, two of my EPF colleagues and I are in front of the Georgian parliament (we liked the flowers).

Here I am in the garden of one of the organizations we visited, with some of the Armenian NGO leaders:
And at one of the Armenian churches in Tbilisi:
This is a huge, newly constructed, Georgian church:
And here are my EPF and NGO colleagues enjoying some Armenian music and dancing (the video is very dark, but you get the idea!)
